Lost VOX
« on: December 08, 2004, 11:27:34 AM »
Continuing to have random failures of VOX.

Sometimes I loose it, sometimes a squadmate, sometimes the other way around, sometimes more than one of us. Sometimes it happens when someone logs off, sometimes when someone is shot down while transmitting.

VOX gets locked up in the film viewer if the last transmission is still active when the film ends.

VOX sometimes has volume that is too low, even though it may have been fine previously. Most times, resetting +20db boost fixes this, sometimes it does not.

Please fix vox. Thanks!

I was in the tower today talkin to a squadie, and I noticed that every time he keyed his mic his radar dot on the map would turn into a square.  'Bout the size of a sector marker for 1-2 aircraft in a sector.  His dot would stay a square until his name disappeared from the upper right corner of the screen.

Can't remember exactly when I first started noticing the big squares on the map in place of radar dots, but it's been a good while.  Didn't put the squares together with someone xmitting on vox until today though...

/shrug maybe it'll help find the problem with why vox dies so randomly.

I was stupid and didn't even think about resetting my modem,  all is well on the Vox front now, for me at least.

Loss of Vox has been common place for many many AH players since its first release. Yes i has gotten worse in the past year.
I have come to accept the idea that it will never be fixed.
No im not trying to be a jerk. In all seriousness, it has always had problems.
I just figured it must be low on the priority list.

Personnaly, I think it would be better if HTC just disabled the whole mess so we could all go back to TS or RW. One of the main reasons we (as a squad) haven't gone back to one of the above is that when we want to fly with non-squad members, it is very difficult because they normally wouldn't have the same software installed.

What really bothers me about HTC vox is that they (HTC) don't really have much to say about it and don't seem to be looking for a proper fix. I (and I am sure others) have tried to find fixes with Skuzzy or Hitech, but nothing ever seems to come of it.

Vox is patchy, thats saying the best I can about it.
It will drop out then come back.
See countless people asking vox was down on CH200.
Alt-tab used to fix it, not any more.
You either have to wait for it come back or relog.
