Patch 6
« on: December 15, 2004, 07:28:32 PM »
Hello Skuzzy:

Downloaded this patch via autoupdater & rec'd the following ERROR:

   C:\PROGRA~1\HTC\ACESHI~1\aceshigh.exe could not be opened.

Remove traces of Patch 6 from my files & once again D/L'd this
Patch manually.   Rec'd same error msg.

I don't have Windows XP sp2 as I was having too many problems with it, unable to open certain files, etc.

I've Zone Alarm (Free version), never had any problems past or present.   Tried downloading Patch 6 with ZA on & with ZA off.
End result is above error msg.

Pls help, thx.

Cheers,

Happy1  :D

I see AH1 listed above. Make sure your using AH2 and the appropriate folder for the new version.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

Does the file exist in the C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II folder?

If it doesn't, then you have a bad installation of the game.  Easy to do.  If you ever remove the game without using the Add/Remove Programs, then the registry entry pointing the original location would cause this error.
Or if you copied the game to another location on the hard disk, the patch will fail as well.
Or if you move the executable to the desktop, the patch will fail.

In most of the above circumstances, the game would actually work, but patches will fail.

Thx Skuzzy & every1 else attempting to help me, to answer ur ?s.
YES I've AT2015T2016.EXE in C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II.

No, I didn't ADD/REMOVE Aces High II from the Control Panel, but I
DID remove Patch 6 from HTC prior to manually downloading the
Patch back into C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II & running it
w/o success :(

What would be the prudent thing for me to do to enable the
Patch to run?  Ur recommendations please as I'm unable to fly on line or H2H..am still on Patch 5.

TY for ur courtesies & help.

Regards,

Happy1  :D

Skuzzy & all, thx for ur help & YES, the file "aceshigh.exe" is\was located in C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II.

This problem was rectified by my downloading AH2016, after removing "Aces High II" from the Cntrl Panel  :)   Everything's OK
now.

Cheers,
