Patch 6 Problems
« on: December 16, 2004, 12:54:17 PM »
Skuzzy, I downloaded Patch 6 this morning and when I logged in my map was blacked out.  My Icons were black as well, not green or red.  In the cockpit, the ammo load, fuel tank indication are blank and my gunsight is black. I have downloaed the latest drivers from NVIDIA.com with no change to the problem. I have Windows XP sp2, GeForce TI 64 meg vid card, AMD 900 CPU and I am running DX 9. Thanks.

Remove the "cache" folder in your Aces High installation directory and let the game rebuild it.

Also note, there seems to be a bug in NVidia's latest driver releases.  Try the driver version 61.77.

Well, I took out the cache folder, installed 61.77 and it didn't work. The login page was blacked out.  I did manage to get in the MA and had no color what so ever. Just blacks and grays. I think I'm going to try a complete remove and replacement of the game.  Quick question, I recently bought another stick of RAM, Samsung 256m DDR, a spitting image of what I have installed and it will not work. Just a blank screen, take one stick out, doesn't matter which one and everything works fine. Is there a setting in XP that I'm missing or should I look more to a motherboard issue??  Thanks!!

Something is definately messed up.  If you do the removal of the game, be sure to manually remove the HTC folder, AFTER removing the game using the Add/Remove Programs ICON in the Windows Control Panel.
