SAN ANTONIO- In San Antonio, Texas, the city council is requiring exotic dancers to be licensed -- and to wear a license badge, even when they're wearing little else.
An attorney for several strip clubs says he'll challenge that requirement in court.
The amendment that was approved early today to the city's "human display" law requires adult entertainment businesses to pay 375 dollars a year for an exotic dancing permit. Club managers would pay 100 dollars a year for permits, while dancers would pay 50 dollars a year.
Dancers who violate city standards could lose their licenses. Dancers will be required to wear the permit to make it easier for police to identify violators.
The city ordinance bans nude dancing, and requires customers to stay three feet from their customers.
