hey guys,might be a dum question but i always wanted to be a good fighter pilot in a P-51D,and never can kill with those 50's can u guys teach me or help me fly one thanks bro:aok

Langford I can help you out if you'd like.  I'm decent in the 51D but nothing great.  When I'm on just let me know and I'll go over to the TA or DA with you.  TA being a bit better so you can get your sights down and then the DA to see just how much it'll take to take someone down.  In the DA it'll seem like it won't take much to get alot of damage on another bird but you have to be slightly more patient with it in the MA.  It'll seem like it takes a few more rounds to get the same damage as in the DA.

Don't let cobra412 kid ya.  He's a very good stick :).

It's all about knowing the flight envelope of the P-51.  We've got a couple of "guides" posted on the 412th FS Message Board so feel free to come by and look them over.

200-250! i love .50s if u get a good shot off there deadly but if ur flying vs. a stick stir warping 190 they suck:aok

Believe it or not most folks in the 412th have them set to a lot of different ranges.

I have mine set to 275-250-225 outer to inner.

I've got my .50s set at 350 for the inner bank and 325 for the outer.  Had to beat the crew chief's arse a few times before he understood that you only put 2 guns in each wing on my bird :D
