The DFI Lanparty board is probably one of the best, but its over 100 bucks and outside the price range you quoted. Within 40 - 60 dollars I'd say the Gigabyte GA-7NF is probably a good buy, or the Biostar M7NCG (although its a few dollars above 60). I have a Biostar M7NCD board and I'm very happy with it. One thing these boards have in common is the Nforce2 chipset. Definite plus. The ASUS A7N8X is a great board, but again its over 60 dollars. Likewise with the MSI K8T-NEO. Good board, but over the range you quoted.
The only one I see on the page I linked above that is inside your price range that I would reccommend is the Gigabyte board at 48 dollars. It's Nforce2, 400mhz FSB, takes up to 3GB of memory, has onboard sound and LAN..........and socket A AMD chips are a good bargain right now. You can get a good deal still on a fairly fast CPU. Granted, its nowhere near the new 64's in power, but it should be good for a couple more years at least if you stay at around 2.0 Ghz or higher as your speed to shoot for. Athlon XP 2600+ or higher CPU, and some PC3200 RAM should keep you rockin for awhile.
