Too bad they couldn't put the faces of all those soldiers that are helping to build free nations on the cover.

They deserve it more.

Maybe it's time to start putting up statues of GWB and put his image on billboards.

It was appropriate.

He certainly has done more to effect world change than anyone else this year....also, the Time selection isn't necessarily all glowing praise....rather, they maintain a criterion of "newsworthiness" in their selection.     (ie, some rather nefarious characters have been named in the past).

Regarding the fallen soldiers - I agree, but never are the faces seen of these brave men.

Do something for a serviceman's family this year.   Forget the cover of Time.

Forgotten, but back in the game.  :)

It's not: Time Magazine's Most Likeable Man of the Year

also note the key word "second" which puts him with:

Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton(a.k.a slick willy).

Time magazine missed a golden opportuntity to honor a person who truely deserved it.

IMHO
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.
