Seasons Greetings to All
« on: December 24, 2004, 08:58:52 AM »
I just wanted to wish all a safe, happy and healthy Holiday Season.

I try to take a moment at this time of year to reflect on the last year, and the blessings that I enjoy in life, and I am truely thankful for all that I have. I think it is a good practice to keep our balance and perspective.

Some of what I am thankful for:

My family is healthy. My oldest son (paratrooper in the Army) is right now in his bed here at home on leave, having survived deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, with one more Afghanistan tour ahead of him. My other son is asleep in his room, a fine young man who has always made us proud. My wife is preparing to make a family breakfast, and tonight we will share dinner with some close friends, tomorrow traveling to spend Christmas with our extended families. My job is doing fine, despite working in an airline when today employment is often shakey.

Considering all that, I am one lucky guy and truely appreciate it.

So, best wishes to you all, and my apologies to anyone I have offended over the last year, I get a little carried away in my zeal and my rush to defend my country or argue some silly point.

"Hark the carol singers choke
From the smog and fumes and smoke
See them rub their itching eyes
As the soot pours from the skies
All over town they'll cough and hack
While the snow is turning black
When their final song is sung.
they'll go home with one less lung"

For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty
