Also make sure that you are running the latest ATI driver.  I use the same video card with the latest Catalyst drivers without troubles.

Does it only reboot when playing AH? Or does it reboot when your doing other things as well?

Reason number 1:  XP Home... go find a copy of XP Pro....

Check your version of Direct X

Check your internal Temps.

Drop your video setting in AH to the bare minimum and see if it loads.

My money is on either power or overheating.  Is your machine overclocked?  Is your memory overclocked?

The 9800 pro is a power hog... If you have an alternitave video card that dosen't require direct power from the PSU swap them out and test it.  If the game runs and the machine is stable then you have found your problem.

Still sounds like heat.  Try playing with the cover off your computer with a fan blowing on it and see if it still happens.

That will not be a solution, but at least you will know what is causing it.

I had this problem, had to contact the computer manufacturer to get a patch for my BIOS to correct some kind of voltage problem or something that was causing it.

Yes, and I think that is a requirement most of the new video cards.   How old is your system?  Most modern ones ship with 300 or 350 watt supply standard.  Worst case scenario is that you need to replace it, which actually very simple and will set you back about $50.

The 9800 Pro (and most other cards out now) connects to your power supply as well, which is easier to do than it sounds.

Yes that sounds like not enuf power.
For example my cpu Should be running at 2.5Ghz but if I set it to anything over 2.1 it will reboot a few mins after I start running a program that requiers a heavy cpu load. I only have a 250 watt power supply/
My brother is running a 1.9 Ghz comp with the 9800 pro and has no problems his power supply is 300 or 350 watt, I don't remember exactally.

It is propably either heat or lack of power related.

But Id try the Omega drivers as well. Im currently running em with my 9600 XT and Im very happy with em.

Insufficient information here to give an intelligent answer.  However, if it is "brand new" the best and cheapest idea is to contact support for your manufacturer and get warranty service.
