Local paper published a casuality list, 2 kids I know and another 4-5 that my mother taught while they were in 8th grade in her algebra class.
I don't really know how I feel since I'm older than all of them, and I'm at the ripe old age of 21, complaining time to time that I barely make enough money to get by. In desperate need of a decent flying job, ect ect ect...
This really puts things into prospective. I know 4 people, one of whom was a girl killed on July 4th in Afthanistan of all times, who have given their lives fighting terrorism or trying to bring a new legacy of peace to Iraq.
One kid in particular really hit home:
Joshua Worthington. 19 - Grove City, OH
I knew this kid, and he's a kid. He was in my mother's algebra class and I only met him for a brief few moments when I stopped into her class one day to drop off something for her. He was into airplanes and was well liked by everyone in his class, so I'm told by my mom. He'd been in to visit with old teachers because he had recieved orders overseas, and was excited to go and do some good. He had plans to go to school when he got home. I know I will live better since I knew him, only briefly. I'll be thinking of him for many years to come.
Here's to you, Josh...Thank you.
