Got a Thurstmaster HOTAS Cougar.. Need Help!
« on: December 25, 2004, 07:48:19 PM »
Ok... My wonderful Fiance got me the HOTAS for christmas.  Sweet gizmo!!

I have some throttle issues and I was wanting other opinions.

My best guess is that the darn thing is broken.  When I first installed everything I got good feedback fromt he throttle.  Stick and all buttons responded perfectly.  Then I stoped getting input from the throttle.  But only the throttle, the buttons on the throttle work fine it's just the throttle itself that isn't giving input.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software and the devices, I've restarted the software in the stick to no avial.  I've read the book 4 times and still nothing.

Wondering if anyone has had this issue and if so how they fixed it.  Like I said I think the throttle is broken so monday I will call thrustmaster and talk to them if I can't get it fixed by then.

Thanks in advance.

is it in the game u lost input or in the program it came with? If its in the game go to settings, joystick, selectjoystick.  the click on the throttle name in the middle of the screen. then click throttle on the right side of the page then click Set Input.

- Hope this helps

Could be you have the axis wrong.....usually X and Y axis are centered.  Like rudder and stick for pitch and roll.  Try selecting Z axis for the throttle itself.

I hope you didn't flash the firmware on it with the throttle plugged in.

If so you toasted the throttle.

Good news is they'll replace it, but it'll take awhile.

I've had great luck with the Stick itself... I'm in love with it.. it's just this dang throttle... I'm gonna call them tomorrow and see what they say....
