Night time please

I'm personally not big on  the night thing. I could tolerate 15min or so. every once in awhile but thats about it. When we used to have night and you were not in a radar area, I spent most of my time flying endlessly trying to find an NME. Got real boring fast to me. That's just me tho. If they bring it back I will adapt or go AFK if i get bored like I used to do, till the day came back on.

You can fly without icons on, just hit ALT i until you see
"NO ICONS". Good luck with Mr. Killshooter tho.:D

Seems to me, I've seen more people here and on-line
talking about how much they miss night time in AH.

it seems to me that there is a simple fix to all of the terrain/environmental issues.

switching things up.

using random variables rather than constants which are so prevelant in this game.

cloudy days on maps from time to time...but not all maps...not everyday...it would be variable.  by cloudy, i mean cloudy.  pure grey.  it happens.

what?  you say that you couldnt do bombing runs?  well, maybe for an hour you couldnt.  again...it happened in the real world.  just as night did.

are we really that picky?

snow covered maps.  seasons existed then too.  (though color was only beginning to appear in the world i am told) *
this is at least another quarter of the seasonal equasion no?

clouds.  one of the most interesting things about looking at the sky is clouds...one of the most important items to making a sky realistic  over a decent time frame - clouds.

dense.  sparse.  intermittent.

i would be happy just to have plain old average everyday ones from time to time.  (variably)

oh...and mountains.  not grassmounds.  mountains.  with timberlines.

the thing is this.  i am getting bored of the lack of variety and i think that it would help to at least have a rotational event which would offer some sort of difference. its starting to feel much like the same room.  different color.  cheap movie.  i have yet to see a new map in the time that i have been here.

again, i just dont see where this is really all that difficult to impliment, even if only experimentally...but i suppose there must be a good reason for HTC to keep avoiding the issue.  maybe, just maybe some of us "scene people" will see the next release and be pleasantly surprized.

im not crossing my fingers as nothing that i have seen so far leads me to believe that anything truly major is coming.

i hope i am wrong.  boy do i.

my hope is that HTC will fully engage with the skinners and the terrain makers who will no doubt they will do it for free, or for waivers.  i have heard tell that it is happening more and more.

great!

until then, i am actively trying out other games to see what they offer and comparing them side by side to aces high to see how they stack.

might find one i like better.

heck, wierder things have happened on a car lot.

Would like to see random towns and Tank Town come back.  It was great at night hiding and fighting in Tank Town.

You are so right.

This game is great initialy but realy getting a little dull to fly in.

Constant daylight sun light. total lack of variables in the weather. I mean come on. In my opinion its a dressed up online arcade game if hitech aren't carefull.

The older versions of Aces high had clouds, deserts, coastlines with sand, nightime etc etc and  it was more pleasurable to fly in then.
Many of the changes to flight model etc are great. I love the skins etc but the environment is in danger of becoming terminaly dull. sorry to say.

Please listen Hitech and give us back a world of variation to fly in.

Completely untrue.  Its probably more like 40/60 for-against judging by the many recent "request for night" threads that people have been creating or responding to.

HiTech, is it possible to create an in-game poll to get actual data?

There are NO radar equiped fighters, so real darkeness is not used, only darkER.
Also untrue.  EVERY fighter in this game is equipped with radar.

There is NO point to it as it just makes the game look silly as you chase the icons instead of the planes.
I'm glad you feel this way and hope others do to - I don't want anyone chasing my Lanc or Bf-110 icons when I'm on bomber or attack missions if MA night time ever comes back.

Did anyone play the Friday Squad Ops "Bomber Wars" a few years ago?

We had a frame that was picth black buff hunting, lancs vs. luftwaffe.... man that was intense. It was a fun diversion, but not something I'm a big fan of in the MA.

Although I don't play enough in the MA to have much of an opinion lol.

Variety is the spice of life.... Yes on Night IMO.
Alot of the time; during night, it wasn't completely dark anyways.
The sky was completely black for only a short time & the light during
sunrise and sunset reflected off the sides of town buildings too:
1:
2:
The buildings could be seen from quite a distance
(except when it was completely dark of course):
3:
Also the flames from burning NME hangars/fuel could be seen from a great distance.
Like directly below the rear wheel in this screenshot:
4:
Besides you could enjoy the scenic multi-colored vistas..ahem, I mean the battleship's
shell trails in the sky!:D :
5:
Night also helped when deliverin' troops. (Icons over planes etc. were there as well.)
Then there's always Ground Vehicles. Defending, or even attacking bases under the stars
was enjoyed by those in my group:
6:
God put me on earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I am SO far behind, I will never die!
