Iraq War II Traitor ?
« on: January 14, 2005, 06:40:36 PM »
Early in the war with Iraq (II). I remember hearing about a (I believe) Army soldier throwing a hand gernade of Army officers killing a few. He was captured. He was also Muslim. I was wondering if anyone ha s heard anything of him ?

Last I heard they were going for an execution.  But that was a ways back.

Here is another 'Iraq War II traitor': (quote from the newspaper AM New York, Jan.12,2005,p.08)
Marine kills officer before being killed.
Modesto. A 19-year-old Marine from California who was scheduled for a second tour of duty in Iraq, shot two police officers- one fatally- before being gunned down hours later as he rushed at police, authorities said Monday. Andres Raya had told his family that after a seven-month stint in Iraq he didn't want to go back, authorities said.

So we can count at least three traitors : the grenade-thrower, the guy at Guantanamo, and Andres Raya.

Don't yet know about this one though.

WEST JORDAN, UTAH -- A Marine who was declared a deserter days before military court proceedings stemming from an earlier disappearance from Iraq has been placed on a list of most wanted fugitives.

A mug shot of Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun, 24, appeared last week on a Navy criminal justice Web site that claims he now uses the alias "Jafar."

I thaught there was also a soldier at Ft. Hood that was emailing what he thaught were terrorist sympothyzers tank schematics and tactics.  Turns out it was an FBI sting.

He's serving a good time.

And for once Gscholz, I agree with you.

But I laughed when it said he was going by "Jafar."
