If shopping for mobo/cpu combos and good prices.

Not to mention vid crds etc.

For mobo/cpu combos I always get mine here..
BzBoyz.com

For memory, towers, vid cards and sound cards.

Tigerdirect.com
newegg.com

You can compare prices, with any of the above 3 sites you can't go wrong.

9600 earlier unit and maybe the extasy units can be tweaked to perform at 9800xt rates. Pencile carbon and/or software tweaks are avail.

$80 at new egg

its a great mid range card and its a 256ddr  with the 9600 gpu in it ...  the 9600pro 128mb card is around the same price also these days ...    but as for prformance between the 2 (yes i have bolth cards ) Id say the difference is very minimal I cant really tell except for 80 vs 85 peak fps in ah2 and farcry plays very close to the same with the grafics cranked ...  i'm just suggesting these 2 cards cause of your price range and I know they work ... other wise id say step up to a 9800pro/5900 or 6800 /x800  card .

I myself will upgrade to the 6800 next year when the prices get cut in half on them ...i cant afford 400 for a vc either.

On the ati website, if you have any old graphic card, you could trade it for a 50 credit to a

RADEON 9600 XT 128MB AGP card

cost will be $119 dollars. Then you could ebay the 9000 for a few more bucks. You may not get a lot though.

Only problem right now is the card is temporarily out of stock but should be in the near future
