Throttle Settings question
« on: January 25, 2000, 08:31:00 AM »
Hello,

I was wondering yesterday....
When i climb to the IP, I usualy leve my throttle to 100%, that can be up to 5/10 minutes depending of the Vicinity of my Take off point...

I remember seeing in orher Sims (EAW) that you could not use your throttle to max for an extended time as your Engine would overheat...

-is this Non existant in AH ?
-is it "not implemented yet"
-or am I just dying so fast ...

Cheers

Heya Saintaw...

What you are talking about is War Emergency Power (WEP). This is also implemented in AH... only for ease of use and because some planes have special additions (for example 109 G10 has G1 or MW50) it's a seperate button (P).

In other sims you can't keep full throttle... in AH and Brand W you can't keep WEP on forever.

Nononono

I was not talking about WEP here, I only use Wep when I want a good Kick...and I know that at some point , that one will run out...

What I was asking was can i maintain my throttle at 100% (Mil power, no WEP) all the way in a mission, without burning my engine ?

Yes. 100% mil power can be on as long as you have gas. Took a 109 and drop tank up for a run just to see how long it would fly. used full throttle till I burned all the gas.  Didn't notice any problem. WEP can be used till you run out. bout 10min in 109.

see ya on line

Saint, I also have EAW and I believe that since they didn't model in a command for WEP, they assumed that full included WEP, thus the burning out of engine in EAW.
