Just make it zero ammo loads for under age 50 subscribers.

Should spend all that energy before age 50 in learning to fly and just dashing to and fro in all that youthful exuberance.

THEN, on 50th birthday, get ammo as a reward.  Something to look forward to in pre senior and near AARP years.

Somewhere on this board someone suggested that if your having a problem to go into the TA and engage the friendly lock because you will find that where you THOUGHT your bullets were going is approx half the distance you really need to make a proper "lead" on an enemy.  I took this advise myself and buzzed by quite a few of the players in there and I found this advise to be very true.  I was amazed at how much of a lead you really DO need.  Only downfall about this "lead" that you need is that if someone is out, say, 400 yards and they pull a hard turn on you, in order to get a hit on them you have to lose sight of them beneath the nose of the plane when you follow them into the turn.  I have yet to figure out the trick in getting shots this way because at least 50% of the time once I bank in for the shot hoping a hit, the other player has pulled a reverse on me and I am unaware they had done it.  Anyone have any suggestions on shooting when in close in this situation?

I hear ya fester.

Last three years I've pretty much lost my edge. Reflexes are like soggy toast.

Plus I burn out after a hard dogfight, have to go take a nap. I'm good enough to teach the new guys in the TA but thats about it.

3 kill sortie landed is a red letter day on the calendar that I'll remember for a month.

I agree that we need a 50 & up arena where we don't have to compete with the lighting reflexes crowd.

Nice small maps,  wicked ack at the fields to prevent vulching, lots of small targets like bridges, barges, trains, trucks, merchant ships etc to practise on.

fester landed 52 kills in a tiger last night, i wonder how much "fun" that was, and he was attacking a base not spawn camping.

My plane, my poor old plane.  The paint is wearing off the prop spinner and the grey is showing through.

She creaks if I move her too fast and groans if I move her slow.

The mast for the radio  doesn't stand upright as good as it once did,

and the fur on my flight jacket is getting pretty thin.

The guns don't reach as far, or cycle as fast as when she was young.

The canopy is warped I think as it's hard to see ahead, and twisting to look behind me makes my neck ache and then it's time to go to bed.

;) 49  and can't hit sh....er crap. Can we get flechette rounds in the cannon?

i dont got enough perkies as it is and i like upen my lancs to kill 1 dang t 34 or wirble its fun droping 42 bombs

This is why I fly bombers. I do not need a lot of reaction time. Have plenty of warning when scanning the skies. Does not take a lot of skill getting that bogie comming up your 6. I am approaching 62
