Had a surprising tornado warning about 6 weeks ago during regular thunderstorms.  I don't worry about them til I hear the jet sounds.

During hurricanes they sound like high pitched wind running through a pipe.  You've heard em in ghost movies, it's the brief "whoooo" sound that sounds like wind.

In the past week SoCal has had Tx/Az style thunderstoms, which I missed. Tornadoes, which I don't.  3.3, 3.6, and 4.4 quakes within ten minutes of each other about 20 miles from where I live, which I'll never get used to.

Tornado warnings never bothered me. You get used to them...that is until I got HDTV and could watch live radar. It's kinda spooky when you can watch the wall cloud form just west of you before they issue any warning. The one that took my wellhouse last spring formed about 10 miles west of me. I remember thinking "how accurate is that?" just before the rumble started.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Wow, what a coincidence. We had another board member that went there.

My Dad lived in San Antonio for a while. Pretty nice for a big city. He was on the edge of town though, and the freakin scorpions were thick as ants. Scooped 5 or 6 out of his pool every morning.

July-ish.  Had to move to take care of the mom unit. Her next surgery is scheduled for the 28th. Hope to get back to PHX at some point. I really liked it there.
