that mission was the best encounter of AH2 to date for me.

the ammount of tracers in the bomber horde sent my brand new £1000 machine into siesures....

that was AWESOME

can we have another?

Thanks guys...glad it worked out ok!  Getting everyone airborne was a task. It took along time just to get everyone up and heading to target...seemed real.  We had a few expected encounters, but it wasnt till we hit the target that the interceptors really hit us hard.

Thanks ROC, Octavius JB42 and others who helped make this better than it could of been.  Post screenshots if ya have em.

I would like to try this again, but would you guys prefer another arena to do it? Plus we can try all different time frames as well. A Battle of Britain style would be fun.

 Thanks again!

Why not have the next event take place in the Backup MA...  I just went in there to see if I could, and yes, it seems to work.  The only thing is that scores do not count in there, but who cares?

Since we aren't pulling 750+ numbers a night, I see no reason why we couldn't use this arena for impromptu events in the future?

If I'm mistaken or if this would be a problem, please correct me.

I think what happened tonight was a clear, main arena wide advertisement for the whole concept of a scenario.

There are alot of people who fly in the MA that do not know what a scenario is, or do not feel comfortable joining one as they are still considering themselfes new.

We have, not only the backup main arena, but the SEA, Special Events Arena, where we, the players, can offer up events just like Filth put on tonight.

We can run these within the normal game nights of the main arena, or run them in the SEA.   Either way, to have a massive amount of players log in and join an orchestrated mission to attack and defend a target is the absolute best of what this game is built on.

I will fly formal scenarios in the SEA, Squad Ops, or missions like tonights in the Main Arena, any time.   Logging in, grabbing alt, killing a base and repeat does get old after a bit.

The CM Team and Players like Filth putting together events like tonight can do any number of missions.  Want a 100% ground war?  Ok, I'm game.  How about a Carrier battle?   Works for me.    We need to get the few in the BBS to translate this energy to the Many in the Arena.   I think, personally, that at least Half of the participants tonight did not know about the event from this board.

How do we promote this stuff?

How would you like to be notified?   Are the boards too cumbersome?  Would you like to be subscribed to an email list and be notified about all events?   This was fun, how do we get more people to have fun as well?

How do we get beyond the usual suspects who already know what goes on in the BBs and get to the players that don't frequent this board?

Was great fun tonight, I would rather do it in the backup main  arena. Since a few Knits tried to ruin the fun tonite. Hitting us in 152's and 262's. I won't name names, since we all know who they were. Sad they have to be so immature to do that. I was really surprised by who they were. I would never thought they would be the type. But there's always Jerks and Aholes in every crowd.

was great having it in the MA
you wouldnt have had the numbers or atmosphere, events like these have been happening for ages in other arenas and havent been as succesful in such a short planning time
It works in the MA because thats where everyone is and wants to be,just look at numbers for other arenas, even when theres events on.
knights got quite a few people to back off the rook convoy
but a few didnt care that we had a scenario going on.
I didnt notice anyone landing 262 kills:)

You may not have noticed , but this put sort of a strain on the MA.
IMHO , events belong in the SEA.
  I applaud your efforts.

Actually, I don't think it did, despite our jokes about bombing the server building.  The event was pretty much over by then and I think the problems would have happened regardless - as I believe it was a connection problem rather than anything to do with the servers.  Yes, it could have been done in the SEA, but FiLtH wanted to do this in the MA for a change.  :)

I wasn't in a special plane, but I didn't launch at 206, or wait for Filth to launch us either.  None of us did.  This wasn't exactly following the rules, but the Allies weren't exactly level at 25k by any means, either, IF you want to go there.  I take it the +/- meant +/- 10k, eh? ;)

I think the important thing is that a massive bomber raid was launched with tons of escort and was met by many Luftwaffe fighters.  It was fun, and I'd like to do it again.

Personally, I think the next time instead of giving a zone where the Luftwaffe can attack, there should be a zone where they CANNOT attack.  This shouldn't extend unreasonably far, only far enough for the bombers to get formed up and to some reasonable alt (20kish).

That alone would be a great diversion from the MA.

I must add that while we were climbing out to intercept, USGrim was typing on chanel that the whole USMC squad was going to intercept the incomming buffs.

Unlike other Knights, USGrim, when being told about the 'mini scenario', called off the attack by the USMC. Given the USMC numbers , and quality of flyers, USGRim calling off his squads attack saved our scenario.

I the USMC, and their CO Grim, they are a class act and a benefit to the community. As well all the other Knights who restrained in attacking such a juicy target.
