Well Sandman, we have a problem (well,..one of many) here in Texas.  It is called the "Bubba factor".  It permeates all levels of local and state government.  If you do not comply with it, you will find yourself on the path to a very short political career.
Due to this anomaly, it is doubtful you will ever find any politician from Texas who is much better.
