how about a force VOX reset button?
« on: January 17, 2005, 11:45:20 AM »
Look,

This breaking VOX thing haas been around for upwards of a year and it happens to a ton of people.  From my experiences, leaving the arena and coming back resets VOX 95% of the time.  Can you not put a "Force VOX reset" button or command line so we don't have to land on a regular basis just to reset the broken VOX?

If ya can't fix it how about providing a reasonable work around?

Already is written for the next version.

Is a dot command, to also assist in finding out which system the problem lies in.

Great!

Does the VOX maintain state?  At this point its just a guess but I have seen stateful processes break with connection burps.  If I'm right, the user gets dropped with a latency spike and does not resubscribe with the VOX service until they relog.  Just fishing a bit for you guys.  One thing I did notice is that I can lose VOX individually or its common for a whole lot of folks to lose it at the exact same time.  This would indicate what I'm saying above from my experience.
