Well got an 8mm calcium stone that decided to park itself in my
ureter.

And the Doc say gotta have a Lithotripst done Thursday.
Now I was wondering has any of you had to have this done?
He told me I would be sedated wich is good .

Oh and to make things even better the Valet driver runs into the back of a Chevy pick up with my 350Z.
Right front fender and front bumper-fascia plus headlight Will have to be replaced.

But good new is I go lots morphine last night in the ER.

My mom had kidney stones removed by surgery and a coupla decades later by lithotripsy.

They gave her a spinal, then into the hot tub.  After some adjustments to focus the energy, a coupla shots of the sonar or whatever it is, and she was done.

Overnite at the hotel across the street from the hospital, a checkup the next morning, then pee thru a strainer to catch the sand.

The old fashioned way was 10 days in the hospital.

It's pretty much what HMc said.  It's a simple rather painless proceedure that is effective at turning large stones into sand that is easier for you to eliminate.

So have I.

Mighta been nice if the doc waited for the drugs to take EFFECT before he started.

Me "OWWE!"

Nurse "you can feel that?"

Me "YEAA!"

Nurse "You shouldnt be able to feel that"

Then just as I was about to reach out and grab her by the throat I woke up being wheeled back to the recovery area.
At which point I leapt out of my bed and started walking (read staggering) around.
Something of which neither my wife nor the nurses appreciated as they were all yelling at me to get back in bed.
So I did. Sat there for about a 1/2 hour and had something to eat.
Felt fine and wanted to leave and go home. and asked to do so several times. Request denied each time. They said I had to stay 2 hours.
Sat there for another 1/2 hour and again said I was ready to leave. they again said no.
Sooo I started talking about some un popular political views.
10 min later they said I could go.

Im a terrible patient

they never said I had to stay 2 extra hours.
Funny thing is, after waking up, I apparently talked to people for a while. I can't remember any of it.

Well the pain got to be to much so I was admitted to the hospital
Wednesday morning and given morphine every two hours until my procedure at 9 am Thursday.

To give you an idea of the pain level Demerol had no effect at all only made me slur my speech but pain was still there.

So they went with the good stuff LOL.

8MM the little demon was and much to my dismay the Dr informs me that I have an even larger one on the other side:mad:

Got's to remember to drink more water.

Reduce meat consumption.  Try to get more of your protein from whole wheat.  This is supposed to help dramatically for kidney stones.  Also, certain legumes (beans) have a chemical that reduces excess calcium.  This is a big helper too.  Soy beans are high in this chemical.

God, my cousin had that- one passed through and shredded his dick and he's been peeing sitting down for 20 years now.
