Help: My old AH settings over wrote new 1.04 settings
« on: September 12, 2000, 01:53:00 PM »
I did a fresh install of 1.045 after rebuilding my PC. Everything worked perfectly with the new version - except I needed to re-do all the aircraft my views and remix the sounds. Luckily ( I think) I frequently backed up my sound, sights and settings folders to a ZIP disc in case of a crash so I would not have to re-do everything. When I copied my old settings folder over into the AH directory it over wrote the new settings folder and all the new keymapping.  For instance I reverted back to the tab key controlling the radio text window size and the ` key does nothing again. I tried to fix it by re-installing 1.04 over itself again but that didn't do it.
Anyone know how can I get my keyboard layout in sync with this latest release, but not have to do another uninstall/reinstall which would make me have to manually re-doing all my old aircraft view settings again?

 TIA for any help!

If you only want to completely revert to the 1.04 key mapping, then it's no sweat. Find all .KMP files in the Settings subfolder of your Aces High folder, and delete them. There may be 6 of them (one for each category of key mapping):

chute.kmp
global.kmp
gunner.kmp
plane.kmp
vehicle.kmp
view.kmp

This will revert the key mapping to 1.04 default settings.

I have all my sights, views, key and joystick settings saved in an additinal folder..

Just copy the settings and sights folders in there and never worry again
