Don't even have a handle now.  Hell, only reason I'm still on the boards is I'm suffering from withdrawal.

On mindanao i was in p38 taking off from a21 (you know, that little base on the island SW on the map) that we had taken.  My plan was to go pork troops so our base couldnt be taken.

Saw a formation of b17's.... .salvo 10... did usual hi angle HO attack... fired all 10 rockets.... and got 3 kills.

Was so funny yet so easy.

Some info on rockets finally! 5.25 second fuses!

Now can anybody calculate just what kind of flightpath those cannons have?? :D No, seriously!

I've seen all kinds of recommendations in how to hit with those rockets.. but it really is so astonishingly hard to hit any buff with it.

Can anyone hit a buff with a rocket with more than about 30% chance regularly? Any tips? Screenies? Aiming point advice??

Hey Hitech, any chance we can get the LW rockets to be aimable at airborn targets with the Revi sight? (IE: Add that upward angle to their flight-path that was mentioned)

Well...chalk one up to foxboy not paying attention.

Buuuuut, they dont converge in the revi. Maybe we could get a way to set the convergence on these things? Likely going to be one of those 'easier said than done' things.

I read somewhere that it was astonishingly hard to hit with them in real life, too.  If there had been a 30% hit rate in the war, every airplane in Germany would have been flying into the buff formations, rockets blazing away.

Different animal.  Those were uber-rockets, for sure.  But they were fired 24 at a time, to create a pattern--kinda like a shotgun.  We have 2 or 4 rockets.

Seems to be about slightly shorter than a mile, so about 1.7k yards.

A pretty fair amount.. enough to further nueter already unmanueverable planes.

Not really worth it in my opinion, at least not for the MA.
