Then again, one would HAVE to be on crack to run for office in that hellhole. Good people do seem to rise from the ashes, however...he's just not one of them.

Up here in central NY we have some of the highest taxes around!

We are looking into buying a house closer to where my wife works. $220K house and yearly taxes are $6-7K. That adds $500 on to the monthy mortage. Crazy!

You need to move to Long Island dude houses Cheap. they go from $300,000 that needs work to 475,000. Not to exclude the 1.5 Mil houses near the water. Taxes real cheap also. Mine are 9,000 with the Star program:lol

Does anyone really think that New Yorkers are right now even aware that there's some proposal to seceed (submitted, no doubt, by some nutjob). Do you think they would care that some media outlet decided to try and make a buck off of it?

Reason why is because NYC is already its own country, and its citizens can't be bothered. Ask anyone there.

Didn't work out that well the last time they tried.

I saw an interview with the city official who came up with the idea.

It is to become a seperate state from upstate.

He is angry that NYC's supporting the state. The flow of taxes out of the city does not come close to balancing the state expenditures within the city.
