help a newbie

i've been playing Aces high a lot lately getting the hang of it and stuff, fun game, yadda yadda yadda. could some one answer 3 questions that irk the heck out of me.

1. Can some one lead me to a excellent mouse input config? I hate the friggin mouse I swear but its all I have. its very undersensitive and over senstive when I do or don't need it.

2. what are the steps to taking a base? I kinda got it figured out. you take out a hanger(s), then the AA guns then you drop in troops via the bomber and they do their stuff. am I correct?

3.What purpose to tanks play? Every one plays ostwind or some other anti air defense, but I rarely see panzers about (if not, any). What do they do other then bust other tanks

Hope yer enjoyin AH so far.I'll tend to your questions in order.

1.No idea since I don't use a mouse

2.Your correct on this one-drop all the hangers(best to hit vehicle hanger first) while at the same time have someone deacking.Only thing really necessary though is have ack down.Droppin hangers prevents defense directly out of that airfield though.Then have the goons dropped.

3.Panzer was(sometimes still is)used to attack fields.Ostwinds drop hangers quicker though and provide cover when attacking a base/field.But ostwinds are toast if they come across panzers.An effective ground force would be ostwinds with panzer escort.Panzers are also good for levelin city

All that has to be down is the AA (it will shoot the troops), if you think that you can sneak in an M-3 or a C-47.  If the enemy is aware that they are under attack however, the hangers need to go down also.  Ack stays down for 30 min, and hangers for 15, so it's kind of a tight window to close everything.  It is even possible to take a field with the ack up if you can get 10 or more C-47's to drop at once.  The ack has trouble killing 100+ troops.

Tanks are great for killing ostwinds and ground targets at a distance.

What are you trying to do with that mouse?  The mouse shouldn't be a big deal in AH if you have a joystick

Well... buy a joystick is good advice.. .but until then:

Go into your control setup and mess with your scalings.  I'd try something like all 100's with a mouse, and then try different curves if that doesn't work out.  You should be able to work something out that feels better if you play with the scaling a bit.

Or... buy a joystick. <G>
