I can see banning the party, or neonazi organizations that would seek to actively harm a group of people. Or if you wrote it on the walls of a synagogue. OR went parading back and forth of one waving the flag and chanting "Heil Hitler" or otherwise going out of your way to be deliberately offensive to Jews, Hunagarians,gypsies, Poles,Jehovah witnesses, and Russians. (just to not forget the other 4-5 million that were interned in concentration camps and murdered by the Nazis)

Yes, it was the symbol of the nazi party. But not all Nazis were murderers either
And as far as I know a symbol never murdered anyone.

For that matter why dont we push for a ban on the German planes in this game? They are certainly representative of the nazi regime. I'd be willing to bet some of these planes were even flown by nazis. they all certainly swore an oath to one.

Thing is the symbol doesn't do the crime. Nor does it cause people to.

I would think that it should be kept around so that we never forget.
Banning it only closes our eyes to the events. Out of sight out of mind and all that.
This business of banning symbols. Being the Swastika there or the Confederate flag here or any other symbol  is more a show of oversensitivity then being simply sensitive to people.

Alot has to do with how recently these things happened also.
  Would you feel the same if people walked around saying "Hail Caesar" Or displaying Roman symbols?
I seem to remember they were less then kind to Jews and for that matter Christians also. enslaving them and Feeding them to lions as a source of entertainment.

I imagine 1,000 years from now nobody will bat an eyelash over such symbols and some other group will be complaining about insensitivity over some sort of injustice.

After all these things that happened haven't only happened to the Jews, or blacks, or Poles or Christians.

They are simply the most recent to have it happen to

Funny thing is my sister lives in the south.
almost every time I visit her I am almost as likely to see blacks wearing or having something with a confederate flag on it as whites.

I've even met more then a few that are proud of being from the south and of the flag.

I remember working at an Apt complex place up here and was talking to one of its employees who happened to be black. when I heard the accent I asked "where you from?"
