Ok guys I have a 1/5 scale Radio Controlled P-51D mustang that I just finished building but have not painted it yet. so heres where one of you might come in I want to paint the model in a rather detailed scale version of Clarence E. "Bud" Anderson's "Old Crow" P-51D but im not a skilled artist and not good at doing computer graphical work. So I ask if any one has some time and the ability to do a rather detailed lay out for the paint for me I will by all means compensate you for your time and effort. Originally I wanted to do a "Big Beutifull Doll" theme but have decided that I would like to do "Old Crow". Please contact me if this is something that you might be interested in doing.

Go here:

http://www.cebudanderson.com/

All the detail info you could possibly want about Old Crow and the 357th Mustangs is on that site.

Yes I know I have been there and its on of the best resources but I dont have the skills to actually produce the paint layout from the pictures as I said Im not an artist Im good at doing the grunt work stuff but when it comes time to add the finishing touches I leave that up to some one who has the knowledge and skill do be able to do so hence why I am asking if some one can do the proper layout for me and I will pay them for their time.
But thank you for trying to be helpfull any way .

He's asking for an artist's rendition of the plane.  He wants a color reference of every square inch of the plane.  Also, he wants scale lettering and checker-board square patterns so he won't have to guess as to how large they need to be.

He approached me about it, but I found that I just don't have the time nor skill to do what he needs.

Couldn't you just purchase a plastic model of the aircraft and use the instruction painting and decal guide?

No because there are no highly detailed "Old Crow" models out there plus the simple fact that it wont be in scale with my aircraft.

I know some one in this community is skilled enough and im sure one of you would like to make a few extra bucks if you have time so please some one give me a hand with this im willing to pay up to $300.00 USD just for the lay out.

I'm not exactly sure what a paint layout is; but couldn't you print this document off and then take it to a copier store like Kinko's and have them blow it up to 1:5 scale?  Apologies if I'm just not understanding what you are asking for.

This would be a nice start and a nice idea but the one fact remains that is still not detailed enough.

Just FYI -

Before you start headfirst into painting and super-detailing the plane....

Go fly it first :)

If it flys well, then move onto the next stages :)

I have built several of these giant scale air craft and have never had a problem with any of them not flying like a dream and actually in comparison most of them fly very comparable to their full size counterparts so the question of it not flying well is not in my mind I have already tested all of the system on this particular air frame and all are in proper functioning order includeing the flaps and retractable landing gear so now its just a matter of getting the paint layout so that I can send it over to my painter and have him work his magic, But thank you for your concern.

You have 2 options that could be available to you. 1 is have a person airbrush the plane. I have seen many helicopters painted with an airbrush and they look great. The other option is go to a Car Detailer that can apply the stickers that have essentially replaced the airbrush. They may be able to make up a template for you or if you have someone do it for you, it simply has to be put on a disk and brought into the stenciler and boom, it's done.

Email me if you want some details. I have knowledge of both processes and may be able to help you out.
