Random Crash to desktop
« on: January 27, 2005, 08:26:08 PM »
Hi all,

Aces High 2 will randomly crash to desktop on me.
By crash to desktop, I mean, without warning, the game will just exit, and I'll be staring at my desktop and icons. Nothing else appears to ever be affected. I've already purposefully loaded Firefox and had it running in the background... Aces High CTDs, but Firefox remains running with no issues.
AH is the only program I currently have with this issue as well.

As far as severety... it's tough to determine. I've already played a 4 hour marathon session without trouble (Late last week), and then a night like tonight, I couldn't play more than 20 minutes without a CTD (yes, I have rebooted between without trouble).

As far as anything else I know... usually the CTD is preceeded by a split second game freeze. Usually while someone is speaking I think. Occasionally I get the split second stutter without a CTD as well and again, for some reason, I think it happens normally when someone begins speaking.

Any ideas? Thoughts? Here's some system information

AMD Athlon 3200+
nVidia NForce2 Ultra chipset with integrated audio (yes, I'm using the integrated RealTek AL650 for sound)
1024 M Corsair PC3200 Ram CAS3
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 with newest Catalyst (not Omegas)
2 Maxtor HDs (120G/250G)
384/3Meg Earthlink DSL inernet

Thanks for any help, even if it's that you don't know =)
