hard lock after video settings

Ver 2.02, after entering the video setup panel offline. When changing from texture 256 to 512, hard lock requiring win button and "program not responding" dialog. When tried to reenter the menu after restarting ah2, hard laock again.

radeon 9600/9700 with 128mb on alienware 51m 1 gig ram win xp pro

Same thing happend to me, had to delete the vidio8.cfg file to get into vidio settings.

Did it go through the cache generation before locking or was it immediate?

If you wanna reproduce this (or possibly this is a diff one), I think this is how it goes.  Log on to the MA.  Log out.  THEN click video settings.  THEN try to get back into the MA.

IIRC this freezes me up.  Has for several patches now.

It was immediate. Once I get to cache generation, all is well. I have subsequently been able to play the game without problems -- with the new settings -- but even after that, I'll lock after accessing the offline video settings page.
