help! Diferent types of planes

Hello boyz!
I saw that there are diferent types of planes everyone is good for somthing, for example:
A spit vrs. F4u , one is good for T&B and the other for .... ok what makes them be good for something?, the spit configurations is good for T&b because....? the Bf's are good for .....because...? ,etc,
so what makes them diferent to each other?
the wings? the engine? the size?
what the nik is good for? is there some type of diagrams where I can compare them?

Under HELP, then PLANES AND VEHICLES, there's a good beginning to understanding on how  these A/C behave, what they're best at, what they not best at.

I personally try to fly them all...since in online sims, you can find ALOT of good pilots that are good in 1 or 2 plane types, but you can only find a handful that are good in ALL plane types, something I'm striving for.
