Tank throttle?
« on: February 01, 2005, 07:09:58 AM »
Any chance we can get the tank to throttle using the normal
throttle lever with the tanks?  I know it can be mapped now, but
you lose the pitch for the main guns if you do.  Im thinking it
is probably not possible given there are only so many axis's
available, but I was hoping if there WAS a way (without messing up
airplane axis setups) that you could incorporate this.

I'd also like to see throttle controllable from any position in the tank. I believe it would better emulate a crew working together to fight the vehicle.

Ya good idea Hammer.  If people ever actually "joined" a tank we wouldn't need this, but since it is never the case, a slight handicap of
performing driver duties in the gun positions would be nice.
Oh, and once again..please make it, so when you jump back and forth
from the pintle position, the gun is left where you last had it!  crucial seconds are lost reaquiring your target.

YES! Excellent idea.

Maybe add "GV throttle" to the list of axes?

Ya another axis would be cool.  Problem is I think the only way to do that is to have it be allowed to be assigned to a second Joystick.  Which I could do..would be worth it.  Dont know how many times im slamming my throttle forward to move, only to have the Homer Simpson complex of "DOH" kick in when I take a few seconds to realise it aint gonna move that way.
HUMM..second thought..I wonder if a second joystick can share the pitch setting?

I think i have requested this in more than 1 other thread.
I dont like the fact the the wear and tear on our Joysticks is greatly increased by constantly holding the stick in the forward and back posistions. The GV game is much harder on our input devices that AC ever is.
