My favorite original ST episodes were the ones with Kirk's sexretary, Yoeman Rand. I used to date a chick that could have been her twin sister.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Oh they'll cancel it all right. They have the 100 episodes they need for sindication and ever since BSG hit Sci-Fi, the ratings that were already worrisome turned dismal.

The actor who plays Dr. Phlox said in an interview prior to the announcement that he didn't think the series would be renewed.

The last episodes (with the exception of Daedalus) have been a turn for the better, but it still lacks the magic of the best trek.

TNG and Voyager are the best IMO. I wouldn't compare any trek series to BSG, it's a different kind of Sci-Fi.

Aye, definitely the best!

Shame about Enterprise, I really enjoyed it because it wasn't as pretentious as the other incarnations.  They didn't have the Prime Directive too! :)

I find it interesting that nobody even talks about DS9.  That was my favorite of all the series, and I have seen 'em all.

hmmm....

Oh, in regards to SERIES, Deep Space Nine is the best, hands down, for me.  The depth of the stories, especially Seasons 5-7, and the serial nature really appealed to me.

Characters died, things in one episode affected things in the next, it was great.  Oh, and it had actual relationships.  In TNG, the closest thing to an actual relationship was Riker and Troi playing high-school girlfriend/boyfriend.  Hardly compelling stuff.

In DS9, you had interracial and interspecies relationships, you had realistic conflicts and fights, even death and dealing the aftermath.

Also, the best fights.  Space battles that exceeded the mark set by Return of the Jedi, like Babylon 5 did too in the same time frame.

Enterprise was just starting to get good, and seemed to be setting course in that direction.  Too bad.

So a pregnant Kira beating up 3 Klingon warriors in hand to hand was realistic?

DS9 was the best of them all imho though. TNG was cool, but repetative. Voyager lost me after about season 4. Enterprise never got my attention.

Now, for all you trekkers (or trekkies) that make it to Vegas, hit up the Hilton. Star Trek:The Experience & the Borg Invasion are pretty cool. Quark's Bar's food sucks though. Just order some onion rings & a warp core breech (5 kinds of rum & cranberry juice served over dry ice). I remember walking in, and vaugely remember staggering out.

Did that last year on a shotgun trip. Was a pretty cool thing. Only "trick" I couldn't figure out was how they had the floor change while you were standing on it.
Gift shops were pretty nice as well. Tribbles make good gifts.

As far as series: TNG was my favorite. STV I didn't get interested in until it hit the late night reruns.  DS9 and STE never grabbed me.

I'm surprised no one got my obscure reference from my favorite TNG episode to STE being canceled. Maybe it was too obscure.

Wow... that was Star Trek??  I though it was some 'morph' of Quantum Leap.

Quantum Leap =  The most 'miss-used phrase in the World

(It would be the smallest Leap Possiable)

Nothin' obscure about it.  Darmok at Tanagra, his hands wide open!  THE WALLS FELL!

My AP English teacher recorded it and played it in class.
