Fully Crewed Bombers.
« on: February 02, 2005, 08:23:27 AM »
Let us have them please. :)
I know this is an old request, But one of the most re-visited request i have seen in AH. I see it talked about on Ch. 200 nearly everyday by many different players. The story goes like this.
Once upon a time in a game far away there were fully manned bombers known as "deathstars".
The fun times (Game Play issue) and camaraderie (Community Glue) during such missions has lived in the minds of likely upwards of 40% the player base the currently play AH2 today.
30% of the players never even heard of such missions (Newbies to SIM) the last 20% are probably old and crusty and cant even remember their name. :D j/k
I have seen 2 players claim that our computers and or HTC aren't capable of making this happen. Both scenarios are false as far as i know.
In all seriousness, is there a technical reason why AH2 cannot have fully manned bombers?
If there isn't, could HTC please consider trying it out to see if it is the smash hit that it was in that “Other” game?
I would even be more than happy to give up Formations in exchange for this feature. Why you ask? Formations are actually just 2 or 3 kills for that player that love to pad his score with multipule kills on formations. Its actually easy to shot down formations these days.
Thanks.

ABSOLUTELY!  not sure about the rest, but I'd sure even pay a higher monthly subscription fee to have this added.  Unfortunately, though, and I could be wrong on this since I havent played this long, but the times I've requested to be a gunner on someone's ship, more often than not, I get a reply, "No, thank you."  Whats up with that?  If I knew how to bomb properly I would pilot bombers and welcome gunners aboard

Without AW's "bufftuff", the deathstars of AH would only be death for their crew.

Now that's no reason not to allow multi-crewed bombers, but for those who expect such a feature to have the same level of effectiveness it had in AW....it won't.

hehe,
i cant remember if it was on aol or gamestorm, but there was an arena called "air galleons"
just buffs, bufftuff all the way up.
come up broadside to each other and just keep blasting away until you break enough parts on the other guys buff for him to go crashing down.
usually, winner was decided by who waited longest to bail out before his no elevator no rudder no aileron beast went smashing in.
good times.
:aok

So what your sayin is no deathstar???

{edit} I do remember in AW you had a pilot and if you only had one gunner he could jump around. About all I did was gun in AW and I'm 100% on that, I forget the command though:) In the other post, it was stated you couldn't jump around. Also I'm pretty sure there were tracers also. But I agree that in AH a single buff wouldnt last at its current toughness. And with the ability to HO, unlike AW, it wouldn't be hard to take one down. That's how you got them all in AW, turn into them and let your nose gunner tear'em up. Fun idea, but I don't think it would be the same as AW.

I read the thread and there is no tec. reason disclosed there slapshot....prolly for the 10,000th time! :D
The not seing tracers part is a no-issue. (Not needed) and the Freaquency of times bobmbers were fully gunned is simply HT's opinion. I personally know that there were constantly guys calling for gunners in deathstars. And i along with 20 or 30 AZ's participated all the time.
SO....tech reason...havent seen it as of yet.
But i can accept that he isnt going to make it an AH feature.
the end. TY for the straight forward reply HT. Now we can Lock the thread.
