USB Ch Pro Ped Problem
« on: January 26, 2005, 07:15:44 AM »
My old and reliable ch pro peds started giving me fits in AH2

they work fine in XP but were flaky at best in ah

the right toe brake has been broke for a while

so thinking that might be my problem, I opened up the peds

does anyone have pictures of how it is suppose to look in there?

I found two wires, a black and a brown not attached to anything

where do they go? to this thing somewhere?

how do I get its little arm back around to get on the stud from the peds?

I guess the springs go bak on the studs below them like this:

thanks for any help here

that center thing is the POT for the rudder action.  assuming it's only the right toe break that is broken, there should be two loose wires coming from the right toe brake somewhere, and those broken wires should be spliced together.

I found the other ends to my black and brown wires. They are running with the blue wires from each foot slider .
I will resolder them and see what happens.
thanks

eagler, been there, although not with two breaks; those wires have a tendancy to get sheared when they come loose. I resoldered my broken wire and then retaped the bundles so they would not slip loose. You can check them by looking at either the cal window in windows, or by looking at the settings window in ah; when you see the correct movement you know you have the wires right.

I was able to reconnect the wires and now both toe brakes are functional again

hardest part was getting the thing back together again :)

Same thing happened to my pedals. Took abotu 20 minutes to fix, and an hour to try getting everything back in correctly.

They've been working fine for the past 4-5 years or so.

Good thing! I'v had my right toe break not working for almost a year.... but have been shy about opening them. I do not have a history of being able to use tools properly.

thx for the heads up!
