Yes Sir. I can remember 2 of my mates in my Group were promoted to E-3 right before leaving CAP to join the regular Armed Forces. I am still in CAP But I no longer have to do all the stuff that the newer recruits have to. I only have half a year left in it. I go to the meetings, and I go to the bases where we have to operate every 2 weeks. But otherwise, I'm not required to do the training like the lesser recruits have to. i'm kinda like a Sgt in a way or a high rank officer but only in CAP you don't go all the way in the rank system like you do in regular Service. Tex where are you based out of? and what's your AO ?

I'm based out of Meacham Feild here in Ft. Worth, TX 388 "Pheonix Composite Squadron," Group 6, Texas Wing.  I hold the rank of Flight Officer and am currently getting my wings. ;)

Nice, I made Flight Officer in November of 02 after helping rescue a downed pilot of a cessna outside our field. I received my wings the beginning of last year. We are New Jersey Group 2 "Eagle Flight" 7th Squad of the main Regiment based in Hampton.
Or for short we are "2 Air Group". Good Luck on your wings,

Depends on where they were stationed mostly.  I have several friends who were stationed in the Phillipines.  I dont know if a man exists with the willpower to stay away from the strip clubs and potatohouses there.  If he does exist, he deserves a medal for it.

Ah... but going to stripclubs and potatohouses doesn't mean that you can't or won't also receive a good conduct medal. ;)

Yes he was.
I know it was explos.bullet and i imagine it was from a flak.
It stuck in hes leg but never detonated.I have a news paper from 1945 saying that brave docktor removed the "dum-dum" as russians called them.
I'l scan and post it some time in future.

To all of you who've posted your medals and ribbons in this thread, regardless of the country you served for. I was never in the military, but many of my closest relatives were/are. The nearest is one of my brothers who just retired from The Corp. I've always had a healthy respect and admiration for those who serve honorably.
