Jester... 389th BG/567th BS B-24 Circle-C

Only made one screenshot so far. But here's a Circle-C B-24 I made in Olive Green.
The Aircraft I chose happens to be very plain though. I was wondering if I'm missing anything typical. I'll include a "profile pic" of the aircraft I used as a guide.

If I'm missing anything, please let me know.
Also, suggestions are always welcome.

This aircraft appears to be a "replacement" B-24 to the squadron, so I'm making it a little less "weathered" than my other B-24. Still have to work on a few things on it though.

VERY NICE! !

First, that is a very interesting picture! I have tons of B-24 pics and I have never seen on OD aircraft with the small "+" behind the aircraft letter. That was mostly seen on the new type markings to designate squadrons. You wouldn't have the "CIRCLE C" on the tail at this time but the tail would be painted solid black with a white verticle bar down the middle. Must be a pic while the remarking was going on.

Just a few suggestions:

Can't see, did you get the "CIRCLE C" out on the top right wing tip?  (as in pic 2 below).

The aircraft serial number & ID Letter, "X", should be in yellow - not white. Most B-24's with that paint scheme had yellow markings.  (as below in Pic 1).

Any mission markings, kills & bombs painted under the pilots window would also be in the same color yellow. Would like to see these on there - want my baby to look good!  :D

Also, if you would rather do a specific aircraft I can find you the right numbers and nose art. Just say the word.

Also, thanks for doing this skin. While the silver one's are OK I think the green OD skins best represent the airwar in the ETO. Always think of the 15th AF when I see silver B-24's for some reason.

Yes, I got the Circle C on the right wing tip, but I did it upside down. Oops ;-) One of the "fixes" I need to do.

The numbers and X I originally did in yellow, until I found this...

here
http://www.455th.ukpc.net/tomfeise/8thusaaf/markings.htm

That webpage COULD be wrong however. I'm happy doing it either way. Which would you prefer/think is more accurate?

I didn't put any kill markings because the plane I based it off of didn't seem to have any. if I can find a good picture of them though, I could definitely do so =)

Is there a particular one YOU want me to do? I CAN change this one. I have to finsih the engines yet. But they're ok...
Glad you like it so far =)

Yea, I have seen that site and it is incorrect. I can show you dozens of pics of Lib's and all of them have the a/c serial number and ID number in yellow.

I will get on it tomorrow and see if I can track you down a good pic of a 389 BG B-24J that has the kills & mission marks and a good nose art. You may decide to use it or go on with the "Generic" B-24, either is ok with me. Got the BG markings and that is the main thing.

Yes again, great work on the skin - looks way cool!

OK Knite, found a couple 389 BG B-24J's you might want to look at. All have the CIRCLE C markings of your skin.

The "baby" has hit a roadbump =?

Nothing major. Just a busy BUSY week.
This upcoming weekend should be a bit smoother. Hope to get a little more tweaks/changes/alterations, and begin on noseart depending on the plane.

Hey Knite,

Yea, know how it is. They been trying to kill me at work also!

If you don't want to fool with the art work the "Generic" B-24 would be cool. Still got the main markings.

Just add a few bomb markers and kill markings (in yello) under the pilots window for a little decoration and go on like it is.

Looks great and again, Thanks.

Hey, why go generic and go unnoticed, when I can bust arse on something so I'll see it fly?

Might take a little longer, but I'm a minor perfectionist. I should be able to work on it some this weekend. =)
