Controller device number
« on: February 07, 2005, 05:48:41 AM »
Recently I find I have to always reset the  controller device numbers after boot up before AH will recognise them...........

It always boots CH pedals as 1 and X52 as 2 and i always have to reverse this before AH will recognise them.

Is there a way to AH to see them in default..or is there a way to get them to default differently.

Easy fix.

Do not worry about the order.  Simply select the joystick in the list, and press the "Set All Inputs" option.  This will correct your problem.

It just sets the standard inputs we provide for the stick (i.e. primary fire = button1, secondary fire = button 2 and so on).

Did this.............

any way with the x52 in its default ID 2 AH recognises it (well all except the top throttle wheel which AH has never recognised)

but now it cannot see my CH pro USB pedals at all..................

windows can............ (windows can see all of the x52 too)

and if I mess about I can make AH lose the x52 and recognise the pedals.......but only as a joystick where my pedals take control of pitch, roll etc

Edit

OK my latest default dxdiag is below........ it shows the chpro pedals ID as 0 and the x52 as 1 in the windows device ID these are 1 and 2 respectively.

In this set up AH(as on my PC) cannot and will not recognise both devices. I can reset the default set up to either device (if I really want to assign pitch and roll to my pedals).

If I then define in windows devices the x52 as 1 and the chpro pedals as 2  (reversing the dxdiag above) then AH recognises them fully and gives full analog read out for both.

Except AH never sees the X52's Rotary 2 in any configuration (when windows always does)

any ideas?

here is the jsmap foir when I get it to work

0,0,Roll
0,1,Pitch
0,2,Throttle 1
0,2,Throttle 2
0,2,Throttle 3
0,2,Throttle 4
1,2,Rudder
1,0,Left Brake
1,1,Right Brake
0,-1,View Pitch
0,-1,View Yaw
0,8,Hat 1
0,-1,Hat 2
0,-1,Hat 3
0,-1,Hat 4
0,2,Rpm 1
0,2,Rpm 2
0,2,Rpm 3
0,2,Rpm 4
0,7,Roll Trim
0,6,Pitch Trim
0,5,Yaw Trim

Rename the settings folder in AHII and see if that clears up the issue.  Might be something corrupt in one of the joystick maps/files.

Nope just the same...........

btw is there a limit to how many variables AH can see per device?

The X52 has 8 if you include the POV (POV reports an analogue read out) but as above AH only sees 7 of them.
