Straiga, dont let these little people pull you down to the level of their mundane lives. You'll always be an air ace in my eyes!

Just read in Computer Pilot magazine about a doctor in Puerto Rico that bought the front half of a 727, had it shipped to PR, built a special hangar for it, and is converting it into a 727 flight sim.  Also includes working food cart, bathroom, 1st class section, etc.  Has sounds of airport playing in background, 4+ computers controlling the views - even has views to the left side of the 1st class cabin so they can see where they are flying,etc....

Oh.......to have the money to do soemthing like that.  But why waste money doing a boring jet liner where you just fly from point A to B?  Why not do it to a fighter and do AH or some other combat sim?  Yes - I'm very jealous!

When I was 17 I bought an Aeronca Champ for $750 with a busted under carraige. I rebuilt it up to fabric ready with the airfraim and engine signed off. Sold it to a freind of the family for about $1000 when I went to college the next year. Now I see them for sale $25,000-$30,000.

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.

I owned a Stearman.  Bought it as a project, and worked my arse off on some nights, but mostly weekends.  Had the fuselage, upper wing, and tail feather done.  Bought an engine core, had a yellow tagged prop, and was getting ready to order the last bit of spruce for the lower wings, and my wife (exwife now) left me.

During the divorce, Satan somehow got it into her head I needed to sell it and split it with her.  Anyways, being the smart guy I thought I was, I sold it to a friend for $10k.  With the behind the scene deal that I could buy it back from him for $11k with in one year.

3 mos after the divorce was final, I had the money, and I went back to him to buy it back, and he said nope...

We are no longer friends and I no longer have a Stearman.  Shame on me for being stupid.

In the heat of the moment, you probably could have made a case for justifiable homicide.

Too late now.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

That other thread is going in circles now with Golfer protecting his client with the identity theft angle.

This request pretty much called his bluff. I don't think he's going to respond now that he realizes there are actually players with careers and knowledge in the fields he boasts about.

It's kinda sad actually. I'm sure he'll be changing his handle soon.
