amd 3400+ overclocking
« on: February 16, 2005, 07:07:16 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has had this high a clock , i dont know if it's a fluke or what but my 3400+ runs a 2400mhz... i was able to push it to a (IMHO) amazing 2820mhz on air with a TT venus 12 .  I am kinda shocked that it booted windows , and ran aces fine .  Temp under load were 52c , 38 idle  .. i ran a 235 fsb X 12 multi , i didnt have to even put any extra voltage  to the cpu. only thing i had to do is losen up my memory timings to 2.5 3.3. 11.   Can this be a bios fluke ?? 400mhz and only  2 degrees  temp change. everything reports it as a 2800mhz 3400+. Seems alittle too good to be true. anything higher my video card shows a bios error, almost like the AGP lock isnt holding at 66mhz .  <> 38

Not a fluke.....AMD usually runs faster then advertised.

I'm running a 3400 also and not oc'd runs stock at 2.4 also.
