Knock on wood, I have never been killed by puffy ack, ever. I took a single ping a couple years ago over a port but nothing since.

I count myself extremely lucky... yes, I use DSL service and I tend to try to manuver out of the ack as much as I can. The way people talk, this doesn't work tho...

i have DSL as well, and manuver or not, it gets me.  ive been fast, slow and everywhere and between, just dont matter.

starting to think number of puffy ack death has a direct correlation to number of posts concerning it.  :D

Why would friendly puffy ack be shooting at you?

If you are in the random box of puffy ack while chasing an enemy, you stand just as much chance of being hit as he does.  I have been killed by friendly puffy ack, just last week i took a hit while in a 262 from it *luckily didnt die*.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

that is my point furball.  i just havent been kilt by friendly fire, yet.  it doesnt make sense to me though that the puffy ack would be firing into a fight when a friendly death could occur.  i dont think they were that accurate.

ex.  i was about 10k, approximately 5k from a base.  a 51 stalled himself grabbing to me(i was a 190)  i dove in, 400 off his belly, booom, puffy ack nailed me, back to tower, do not pass go.
did they really fire puffy ack, with friendlies in area like that?

some of the cv action ive seen, cant believe more friendly deaths havent occured.

i guess it just dont seem as even of a chance.

I've actually been hit and disabled by friendly 37mm fire over my own base.

I've been hit by friendly ack (20mm I think, 37 would be instant death) at least 4 times since I came back in september.  Usually  pilot wound or an oil hit.

got smacked down 2 times in 5 minutes yesterday over the same stupid CV by the same puffy ack.  But don't think I have any bitterness  =)
