Question for Guppy on Screwy Louie
« on: February 10, 2005, 12:40:47 PM »
Do all the US insignias (boom, upper & lower wing) have the the dark blue border?    I see the border on the fuselage booms but I'm not sure about the wing surfaces.

Do you have any other images of her?  I'm just working from the Osprey profiles.

Thanks!   Its coming along, slowly though.

Nose art images of Screwy Louie.  The wing star and bar would be the same with the blue outline.

One of these days Oboe I'm driving north and I'm gonna dump the 38 books on your desk.  It'll keep you busy for a year :)

do the white flags on the nose mean he has killed 2 frenchies?
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

Either he was planning ahead or they were in process of adding two kills when the photo was taken.

You'd be surprised how often those show up.  I'd guess it was photographed in process of adding two kills however.

Ha!  No doubt!   But do we dare separate the man from his books?   You know where it all is when people have questions, it'd be all lost on me!

Thanks btw.   Any idea on whether the oil radiator intake strakes were painted or natural metal?

OK!

You know what, I just turned a pair of binoculars upside down to use them as a magnifying glass against the Osprey fuselage detail image, and found out its:

SCREWY LOOIE - not SCREWY LOUIE!

Gotta do the noseart over now.
