He installed the fireplace. All He used to install and hold fireplace in place was 2x4's untreated and no barrier or spaceing. Fire chief's report Said in big fat letters " This is criminal" Our house was on fire for estimated time of 2 to 3 hrs behind walls before we even knew it. We were Really lucky, Wife and I were up watching the movie RAY and getting ready for trip to Chicago. all of a sudden smoke was coming into room from top of brick wall. I felt the top and burnt my hand ran to phone called 911 all of us got out with no problems and except for freezeing a little and some smoke all in good health. vol fireman was at home in 1 to 2 mins and trucks 3 to 5 mins responce. They saved home all but addition, But 90 contents were destoryed by smoke and water. But we Are really lucky Are ins. company cut us checks and put us up in honeymoon suites Thursday morning just hours after fire. And Like everyone says "once your out safely all is down hill" .

so we are doing okay a little depressed about our personal items. but Really glad to see how many great nieghbors and friends we really have.

I'll miss being in arena for awhile. But need to take a break and get house rebuilt.

I'll post photo's of fireplace and I'll bet some of you will be in crawl spaces double checking. I know I'll never have Fireplace again unless gas............

 Rod367th out.

Guys were lucky ones cause we have great ins and can care for ourselfs well. The messages from some of you have started this old guy to shead some tears, Grimreaper your offer of furnture or computer parts was " I don't know what to say to offer" But  omamazing show of heart Thank you for offer. Family is okay and everything looks to be going smothly, Just finished pack out today, and now we can try to get back to normal  routine as we can. Hopeful in 3 to 6 months we can be back in our home.

To those who think this bad luck I look at this as greatest luck i've ever had. Some one built a death trap behind walls we couldn't see and we escaped. Luck and smart thinking really played big part in this.  We never used fireplace all night we always let fire burn out before going to bed.  We were home and awake when fire came thru walls, and entire family escaped out of house before home filled with too much smoke. Lucky Movie RAY was so good that we didn't turn off TV and just go to bed. Lucky that are fire department was so fast and did everything they could to try and save as much as they could. To those of you that are FIREMAN  Big I didn't know you guys treated a house fire as if it was your own house on fire. During fire these guys were coving bigscreen TV surround system and other belongings with huge tarps to try and save things, some were trying to save our Art work as others were fighting fire. watermelon tears coming again but tears of respect and admiration of those willing to sacrifice thier lives to save others belongings and lives Every day. Too go under a house with hose into crawl space to help put out fire how in they hell can some one have that much courage to do this with out thinking twice. So as you can see I am Very lucky man Family well friends who have offered unlimited care and Fireman willing tio Risk thier lives to save my belongings CAN'T get any luckier in Life. Thank you all for your calls I'll try to answer all messages as I can. From my family and mysel Thank you all.
