AH2 or ToD questions
« on: February 11, 2005, 02:48:48 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Well, I'm finally back in the MA flying around, and it seems more or less the same old place.  I remember back in May of 2003 (when I last played) there was a LOT of talk about AH2 being mission based on a rolling half-hour basis or so, and that AH "Classic" would be the furball MA.  What happened to this?  Is the mission-based setup going to be Tour of Duty?  I thought that used to be one of the special events nights?  Just curious, any help is appreciated, I searched for some info, but couldn't figure it out.  Thanks!

Jason

Hi Jason,

I understand your confusion.

AH2 is still the same, just brushed up with other graphics and a diffrent flight model with a smaller hitbox.

TOD is what is planed for the future and will be the half hourly mission starting pilot progression thing, at least its supposed to be.

The old Tour of Duty was a special events series i think? not sure but i think that is the confusion, anyway tour of duty is the planned ah2 stuff you talk about.

Yea, only now folks are having special events in the MA, asking for TOD`s release, not using the SEA for what it is designed for and complaining that MA is not played like the SEA or TOD.  That clear it up for ya? ;)

Thank you all for the info, Tequila I saw that thread, I just didn't understand what ToD was going to be.  I used to like the combat theater a lot, but it seems it doesn't get much usage.  I like the historical matchups, which is also why I used to like the scenarios a lot.  Hopefully the folks in AH will like ToD and it will see a lot of use.  Much in the same way the CT doesn't get used, I could see people not wanting to join missions in order just to take a quick flight.  Marketing will be an IMPORTANT part of ToD...  Hopefully HT has a way to bring it to the forefront and draw in some of the furball crowd.

:D  Heehee. The point was that folks are holding Special Events in the MA and not using the SEA instead.
