hello I now this is not the correct thread for technical support but , TS forum sucks.

I have a problem

1)I fly normally 1 or 2 sorties, everything is fine.
2)suddently auto combat trim enables (I dont did nothing) and auto takeoff is engaged too (I dont did it too)
3)All game sounds are losed
4) I lose all the planes sigths I just see the with rectangle

then I have to restart the game, when come up again everything works fine, a couple of fligths and eveything is wrong again. this happens onlie and offline too.

here some keys:
P3 800 mhz
128 ram
Voodoo 5 64 mb video card
everything with the latest drivers
DX 8.0
like 15gb of HDD
ms sidewinder precision 2 with a custom profile

everything works fine on my pc , all the other games too, I just have this problem  with aces high and is my first time I see this ,I have like 12 months flying with same setup and never failed before

I reinstaled the AH software, checked all my keys settings but everything looks fine .

any help please?

You didn't post this in the Tech Support forum.  I would have answered you there, as I'm sure would the others.

BTW, I think Wobble may be correct.  The symptoms you report are similar to those a few others have reported with virus problems that infect your winsock.dll file and cause problems with AH.

Dunno but I could not get my P3 800 with Voodoo 5500 to work with DX 8.0. I went back to DX 7.0a

This sounds a lot like the problem that Bloom25 was having a while back.  Check the Technical Support forum to see what he did to fix it.

I updated my norton virus definitions yesterday, the last time I did that was on november 99  

and voila!!!!!!!!! a damn virus found in my wsock32.dll, I replace it with a new one and now my AH software works fine again  

you guys were rigth , thanks a lot for the posts.

btw I hade 16 more files infected with some kind of virus called "w95.hybris.gen"

I had to reisntall dx8 too because one of those virus damaged my directplay

EAGLER: you installed the voodoo 5 updated drivers that works with dx8??? they work just fine, the file name is "vs-w9x-1.04.00.exe"
I got it from 3dfxgamers looks like the site is down now

thanks for info eagler, now I will try to keep my virus definitions update  

and yep I searched my inbox en theres a mail called "blanca nieves y los siete enanos" in english means "snow white and the 7 dwarfs"
and I found the guility :my sister opened  
she tougth was just a joke,

btw i dont now why this virus just affected my AH software, everything else was just fine.

The virus infected your wsock32.dll, which is your core networking component used in TCP/IP network connections.  This virus installs a "back door" so it can control your network connection, and that change will cause various networking problems.  Aces High is obviously very dependent on your network connection, so it does not function correctly with the infected version of the file.
