Here's the film of Corsair landing practice I said I'd post. I landed with a bit too much bounce, had the brakes held the entire time, and applied a load of right rudder when she just started to swing. Seems my usual steep approach doesn't work anymore, must be doing something different. Ahh well here it is:

Is that landing on CV or airfield?
Airfields, I use flaps, speed at touch down is 95-100 mph, then brakes once wheels touch and full back on stick to get the tail wheel down. If you see me ground loop, its because I'm doing something stupid like typing...

An airfield landing Rip. If I'm not right on top of the rudder she'll swing out and ground loop, so when it started to swing I gave a hard boot on the rudder. Kept it straight even though I had the brakes locked up the entire time.

I am constantly giving some sort of rudder correction upon landing, though minute adjustments, my biggest ground loop prob was due to not pulling back the stick into my lap after wheels were down.
Incidently, I was just reading your reply Flak, when the earthquake hit

What? You guys getting aftershocks already? I haven't felt a thing down here after the initial shudder. And yeah my boss is still a little peaved at me for my comment about getting his panties in a pinch!
As for the Hog, she swings like a 109 on landing. When I'm landing either plane I really work this old twisty stick!! I invited a Navy recruiter over since he used to fly Tomcats. When I landed the Hog after a short H2H bout he asked "Why were you doing S turns?". I told him I wasn't, I was trying to keep the thing on the runway!! He cracked up laughing. When he tried flying it he ended up doing the same thing; S turns with the rudder trying to keep straight.
Before he left he said "Sure is different from flying a T-6, but damn that was fun!". So if you happen to see a Navy recruiter around here hollering about a good time, you can blame me!

hehe, I just get the hog to grass cutting alt and lined up on the runway, turn OFF engine, apply full flaps, lower the elevator and shift-x on level. That blue pig will land on its own.
