LOD Bug in citys making them non capturable

A6 on current map -few buildings when inside the closest LOD range are not there - you can shoot at the space where they are at - but no hits register. If you shoot rockets/bombs from the 2nd LOD distance - and they hit - you can kill it. You just have to make sure you stay inside the 2nd LOD range to where you can see ordinace hitting target. If you get in the closest LOD range while ordinance is on the way - building dissapears and ordinace hits nothing :)

Not sure what LOD is, but I've shown the location of one of the buildings on the map "Equinox" in my thread.

LOD = level of detail.

there is i think 3 levels in AHII, the objects render differently at each level, and if i have read correctly it is built into the object how it displays at the different levels


btw level of detail also if i have read right is based on distance from the object
I don't know what to put here yet.

LOD's would have no effect on hits. Collisions are always done on HI lod's.


Also all towns are the same at all fields, So if you are not capturing them, somthing else is happening then you describe.

I put a majority of 50cals into an unseen buildings "lot" and a squaadie in a tank was firing shells through the space where the building would be - he was next to it -

I came back with rocket and launched them from a ways out - and got a building destroyed message -

So it seemed as if it was unhittable if it was unseen - and it would dissapear at 1k

heres a picture of the 2 buildings in question -

I took this offline and there were no problems with them dissapearing. I'm know the lower left building thats marked was one that would dissapear, and the top right one is either the one marked - or the one next to it on the left.

I think this started with Version 2.00.

The left building in that picture is the same one as in mine.

Edit: Oh, PATCH 2. Riiight. :D
