I was taking off from a field above sea level, and noticed what I THOUGHT was an odd shadow effect on the ground. The shadow wasn't BLACK! It was like a white partial outline, only wierder. And it seemed to follow my plane perfectly. Well when I cleared the field and climbed up it turns out it's our CV group turning around just off shore.
The wakes were pretty far away but still showed through everything.
