Sharkmouthed 475th FG P38H early model request
« on: February 24, 2005, 06:07:01 PM »
Thought maybe one of you experts could take a crack at this one.  Not sure if the sharkmouth would work.

433rd FS, 475th FG.  Pilot Charles Grice.

Hand me down 38H from the 39th FS of the 35th FG when they transitioned to Jugs, much to their chagrin.

The 475th got their P38s.

Tommy Lynch's P-38H (he was CO of the 39thFS/35thFG) has the same overall scheme but even more colorful - his sharkmouths have a red outline, and his plane has blue tips on the tails and blue boom ID stripes.

But, do these 38H's qualify under the skinning compromise?    I have seen profiles of 38Fs with the same scheme so I assume that Fs, Gs, and Hs all served together in the same unit...

This is an old 39s FS hand me down to the 475th so it would have flown with Tommy Lynch's crew.  G's would have been involved together with the Fs and Hs in this bunch
