Would it be possible for the scoring of rank and perks to be changed so that more weight was applied when the player was awarded points as a result of a mission.
This may require altering the Mission editor so that specific targets could be assigned to flights in a mission. As they were during WWII. Currently the editor allows one to assign flights, select routs and assign alts but there is no way to assign a specific target to a specific flight, either as a primary target or as a secondary target.
I’d like to see the ability to assign a primary target to a flight in a mission, say fighter hangers. If pilots assigned to that flight attack their primary target and destroy or damage it, that they be awarded extra perks or points accordingly, but only if they survive the mission, like in real life.
This might entail changes to the Mission planning software to allow targets to be assigned when flights are created, perhaps from a pick list of targets . Additional selection box in the mission panel to select a Primary target and perhaps a secondary. We currently identify which airfield or vehicle base we are leaving form. Just an additional box or boxes to identify the target base or fleet and within each flight, the primary target for that flight, FH;s or BH;s or VH, or Raidar, Barracks and so on. Mission flights that hit their assigned target, Primary or Primary and Secondary or just Secondary targets would have additional perks added to their score. But only, as in real life, if they live to fight another day.
I’d hope this might encourage team play and provide an additional benefit to flying well planned, orgainized missions.
Except for a few cases, most missions are missions in name only and really contain no planning.
