I bought "Enemy at the Gates" and "Vanilla Sky" on DVD for $4.88 each
that's almost cheaper thanr enting them.

Enemy at the Gates is a good movie.
I haven't seen Vanilla Sky yet, but it can't be that bad.

Maybe you're talking about the crappy/older movies for $5.50, in those big bins.

Both were okay... I rented them, but I didn't enjoy them enough to actually buy them.

but if the price were the same? wouldn't you rather buy them? at the evry least, it saves you a trip to return them, or, when you got people coming, you have something to put in your dvd player and keep them entertained, without breaking out your weed/hash/shrooms or whatever floats your boat.
and then the savings multiply like ripples in a pond and...

Enemy at the Gates is not a good movie.

But it is worth the 4.88 I paid for it a week ago. I saw the deal too

I think it's a pretty good movie, save for the fact that it makes the Russians into the good guys. But it's ok, the comissar still dies at the end.

what I find really funny is the sex scene in the common sleeping area...there's a guy lying right next to jude law who is watching them **** from time to time, at times pretending to sleep...makes me think that he's whacking off ...I'm not sure if that's what they intended to convey...but it's hilarious.

Yeah thats one bad sex scene...

But since I reenact russian WWII it's like the only movie out that I can get my hands on..
